Heather Rohan CEO CentennialIt's the flagship of the company, Centennial Medical Center, and she has a new captain as of December 1st.

Heather Rohan, incoming CEO, formerly Chief Executive Officer of Aventura Hospital and Medical Center in Florida, takes over from retiring six-year CEO, Tom Herron.

Rohan, herself, was CEO at Aventura for seven years, CEO at Pompano Beach Medical Center before that, and has 25 years' executive experience at HCA altogether.

"Heather brings an extensive list of accomplishments and outstanding experience in all facets of executive leadership to TriStar Centennial," Steve Corbeil, president of TriStar Health, said in the release. "With an extraordinary dedication to compassionate and quality patient care, we are confident that Heather will continue and elevate TriStar Centennial's legacy of excellent care and service to the community."

Heather saw Aventura receive Joint Commission recognition two years in a row as a "Top Performer", achieve distinction as a Comprehensive Stroke Center and open an orthopedic/spine unit in March.

While at Palms West, she oversaw two major expansion projects, one of which culminated into what is now a Children's Hospital, having evolved from a multispecialty pediatric program with pediatric residency.

This experience will benefit her at Centennial as she'll oversee the installation of a new 10-bed pediatric critical care unit at the TriStar Centennial Women's & Children's Hospital as part of a push to add pediatric surgery and specialists in pediatric gastroenterology, pulmonology and urology.

In addition to that, Heather inherits expansions and renovations already in progress: a new six-story medical office building and a centralized Sarah Cannon Research Institute in Nashville.

Larry Kloess, the former TriStar Health president now a senior advisor to venture capital firm Clayton Associates in Brentwood, expects Heather to be a great addition to the Nashville community.

“She’s a very talented hospital leader and I’m confident she’ll do a great job at Centennial and and for the TriStar Health family.”
