Matt Dixon has been named chief executive officer for the new HCA affiliate, Pearland Medical Center, expected to open in the fall of 2014.
Matt was most recently chief operating officer at the 317-bed St. Mark's Hospital in Salt Lake City where he oversaw a staff of 650 physicians and 1500 employees since 2006.
Before that, he was the associate administrator at Lakeview Hospital in Bountiful.
"I am pleased to welcome Matt to the HCA Gulf Coast Division team as Pearland Medical Center's Chief Executive Officer," said Maura Walsh, HCA Gulf Coast Division president. “Matt's strong background in operational leadership makes him particularly well suited for this role. We look forward to him developing a high-quality, clinically excellent medical staff and building a team of talented and committed leaders.”
Pearland broke ground earlier this September, a $71 million, 144,00-square-foot investment that will encompass the current freestanding emergency department, imaging center and three-story medical building by adding surgical suites and more beds and services to meet the growing population of Pearland.
"I am honored to join the new Pearland Medical Center, a dynamic facility that emphasizes HCA's commitment to providing convenient, high-quality healthcare close to home," Dixon said. "Pearland is one of the fastest-growing communities in the Houston area, and I am excited about Pearland Medical Center meeting the diverse healthcare needs of Pearland and its surrounding communities."
Mat earned his MBA from the Stephen M. Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan and received his bachelor's from Brigham Young.
He is also a fellow with the American College of Healthcare Executives.
Congratulations Matt.
