The Missouri Hospital Association has honored Todd Krass, CEO of Belton Regional Medical Center, with the 2013 Visionary Leadership Award for his contributions in improving the community health of Belton.
He was presented with the award during a dinner ceremony at MHA's 91st Annual Convention & Trade Show where he was recognized for his passion in building a better health system to meet the needs of behavioral health patients.
His efforts started at Research Psychiatric Hospital in Kansas City, having developed a Mobile Mental Health Assessment Team, as the facility's CEO, to help standardize patient assessment and documentation tools throughout the HCA Midwest Health System.
"Todd’s work in behavioral health has provided the right tools at the right time," said Herb B. Kuhn, MHA president and CEO. "The state's mental health system has limited resources and high demand. Making the process for analyzing patient status and developing a diagnosis more efficient is important for the patient, the health care system and the community."
Todd also served as chair for the American Hospital Association's section for psychiatric and substance abuse services where he was able to share his experience and influence policy, advocacy and member services strategies.
He has more than 25 years of clinical, managerial and administrative experience in psychiatric settings. With eleven years at Research Psychiatric, Todd joined Belton in 2005, serving as CEOs for both facilities over the next three years.
His education includes an associate's degree and bachelor's from Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas and a master's in nursing from Texas A&M University's campus in Corpus Christi.
Congratulations Todd.
