Hugh Wilson, Jr., has been named interim chief executive officer for Grand Strand Regional, replacing Doug White who retired in September.
With more than 30 years of management experience at HCA, Hugh served 16 years as president and CEO for Doctors Hospital in Columbus, Georgia, after serving 6 years as CEO of Lakeside Hospital in Metairie, Louisiana.
Before becoming interim CEO at Grand Strand he served as interim CEO for Palmyra Medical Center in Albany, Georgia in 2009 and again in 2011.
Hugh earned his Bachelor of Science in pharmacy from Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama and his Master of Science in health services administration from the College of St. Francis in Nashville, Tennessee.
Hugh will remain in the interim CEO position during the search for a permanent CEO.
