The LewisGale network includes four hospitals, six outpatient centers, two cancer centers and 700 physicians at more than 160 affiliated locations stretching from Alleghany Highlands and Rockbridge County to the Roanoke and New River Valleys
Before serving at Abrazo Health Care, a six-hospital, 1,029-bed network in Vanguard Health Systems, Jon served eleven years as CEO of Arrowhead Hospital in Glendale, Arizona.
"Jon has outstanding credentials as a hospital administrator and a health system leader," HCA Capital Division President and senior executive of HCA Virginia Health System Margaret Lewis and Denise King, chairwoman of LewisGale Medical Center's board of trustees, said in a joint statement. "His experience translates perfectly to LewisGale and will allow us to continue our work in providing high-value, high-quality health care during a time of great change in the industry."
No stranger to HCA, Jon has served as CEO and chief financial officer at former Columbine Psychiatric Center in Highlands Ranch, Colorado, chief operating officer at Presbyterian/St. Luke's Medical Center in Denver, and as controller at the Medical Center of Aurora in Aurora, Colorado.
"I'm delighted to be rejoining HCA and excited about coming to the Roanoke Valley," Jon said. "The LewisGale system has a well-deserved reputation for providing outstanding care, and I'm looking forward to playing an important role not just in leading our health system, but also in being an integral part of the community."
Jon received his bachelor's and master's in business administration from the University of Colorado in Boulder.
He makes his new start October 31, 2013.
