As COO, Zach will lead day-to-day operations for Retreat and serve as the principal administrator for HCA Virginia's first free-standing ER, West Creek Emergency Center, and the new Hanover Emergency Center, which is scheduled to open next spring.

Zach started with HCA as an associate administrator at Johnston-Willis Hospital in Richmond before serving most recently as COO and ethics and compliance officer of HCA's StoneCrest Medical Center in Nashville.
While at StoneCrest he led initiatives that placed the facility in HCA's top 10 for patient satisfaction and led the division's surgical growth initiative.
His healthcare career started in critical care nursing at VCU Medical Center and he has worked as an EMT-Paramedic at various EMS agencies in Central Virginia.
He received both his bachelor's in nursing and master's in health administration from Virginia Commonwealth University/Medical College of Virginia campus.
