Clik here to view.Interim CEO since December 2012, Keith Zimmerman has been appointed Medical City Children's Hospital's permanent CEO as of August 1, Erol Akdamar, Medical City CEO announced.
Erol told D Healthcare Daily that "Keith brings a wealth of experience in healthcare to the table, understanding both the importance of working closely with physicians and hospital staff, and a culture of commitment to exceptional patient care," also noting that he looks forward to working with Keith as he continues to set a national precedent in pediatric care for the hospital.
Keith joined Medical City in January 2011 as chief development officer after serving as the system vice president of business development for OhioHealth where he lead several multimillion dollar growth strategies, including the approval and development of a freestanding emergency department and a comprehensive outpatient cardiovascular diagnostic center.
As chief development officer for Medical City Hospital he led strategy and business development for all adult service lines and Medical City Children's Hospital.
As the Children's Hospital's CEO, Keith says he looks forward to continuing projects including the expansion of the Congenital Heart Surgery Program, operating room renovations, creation of a new pediatric imaging center and an adolescent bariatric surgery program, and the opening of the new Medical City Children's Hospital Urgent Care in September.
Keith holds a Master’s of Business Administration in Health Care Management from Regis University in Denver, along with an undergraduate degree in business administration from the University of Louisiana.
