Starting this September, Chris Mowan, FACHE, will serve as the new CEO of MountainView Hospital, the hospital has announced. Chris joins the facility after serving four years as chief operating officer for Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, both part of the Sunrise Health System.
Citing his experience in the Nevada market, Bryan R. Rogers, FACHE, and president of HCA Far West Division acknowledged that as Chris "continues to work within the Sunrise Health System, his leadership and knowledge will be valuable in continuing to advance the growth of healthcare services to our patients."
"At its inception," Chris said, "MountainView established a patient-centric culture that values the delivery of the safest, most compassionate care possible. I look forward to joining the team and carrying on the tradition of recognizing our employees and in engaging physicians as our strategic partners."
As the COO at Sunrise, Chris oversaw operations of many areas of the hospital and major service lines including the Nevada Neurosciences Institute, ancillary departments and physician recruitment.
He also completed several major hospital expansions, including renovation of the adult medical surgical and ICU floors and the rehabilitation unit.
Prior to his role at Sunrise, Chris served, among other roles, as COO at Del Sol Medical Center. In all, he has been with HCA for 18 years.
He received his bachelor’s in accounting from Indiana University in Indianapolis, Indiana, and a master’s in business from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas.
Chris assumes his new role following the move of current CEO, Will Wagnon, FACHE, to the CEO position of Henrico, Parham and Retreat Doctor's Hospitals in the HCA Virginia network.
Congratulations on your promotion, Chris.
