Two Officer Promotions Within HCA This Week

hca promotions2St David's South Austin Medical Center in Texas has named Daniel Huffine as its new Chief Financial Officer while out of the COO Development program, Callie Andrews was named Chief Operating Officer at Eastside Medical Center, Georgia.

Daniel previously served six years as the division controller for the Central and West Texas Division of HCA, which includes St. David's HealthCare. While in this role he oversaw the accounting and financial reporting functions of eight hospitals in Austin and El Paso. He also handled budgeting and capital project planning processes for the division.

“Dan has an exemplary track record and a proven history of responsible financial management,” Todd Steward, chief executive officer of St. David’s South Austin Medical Center, said. “Over the past 30 years, St. David’s South Austin Medical Center has experienced incredible growth and received numerous accolades for exceptional care. We are confident that Dan will continue to guide us down a path of excellence and contribute to the hospital’s efficiency, organization and growth so that we can continue to meet the needs of the South Austin community.”

Of his accomplishments, Daniel participated in the integration of two newly acquired hospitals – St. David's Georgetown Hospital and Heart Hospital of Austin and was the controller of Presbyterian/St. Luke's Medical Center in Denver.

He earned his Bachelor of Science from Montana State University with a major in business and accounting, and his Master of Business Administration degree with an emphasis on healthcare administration from Regis University in Denver.

He starts his new role at St. David's South Austin Medical Center this month.

Callie Andrews joined HCA in 2007 at Redmond Regional Medical Center. In 2008, she went into the HCA COO Development Program as an Associate Administrator at Redmond, leading the way on initiatives including the development of the Joint Center, hospital renovation and modernization projects, and the patient experience improvement initiative called the "Smile, Be Friendly and Communicate" campaign.

She was key to initiating a very successful Wound Center, seeing it opened and managing it as well. She held direct reporting responsibility in Laboratory, Food and Nutritional Services and Environmental Services as well as many other ancillary departments and to top off an already highly successful career, Callie has been serving and will continue to serve as interim COO at Redmond until she assumes her new role as COO of TriStar Division's Eastside Medical Center in Snellville, Georgia later this month.

Congratulations to both of these inspirational leaders on their well-deserved promotions.
