According to Henderson Star News, it takes consistently going above and beyond the call of duty to make Hendersonville a better community. It takes being involved in a variety of civic activities that demonstrate selflessness and generosity. It takes being a role model to other community members.
And the civic-minded role model to earn the 2012 title of Citizen of the Year is Regina Bartlett, CEO of TriStar's Hendersonville Medical Center in Hendersonville, Tennessee.
A board of director for the Chamber of Commerce, Forward Sumner Economic Council and the United Way of Sumner County, Regina is also an active member of the Hendersonville Morning Rotary Club and was appointed to the Tennessean Medical Laboratory Board by Governor Phil Bredesen.
Bartlett began her career with HCA as a staff nurse more than 30 years ago. After serving in several nursing leadership capacities in the company’s Chattanooga-area facilities, she moved to middle Tennessee after being named Chief Nursing Officer at Hendersonville Medical Center in 1997. She was also Chief Operating Officer at Hendersonville before becoming Chief Operating Officer at Skyline Medical Center. Bartlett returned to Hendersonville Medical Center four years ago as Chief Executive Officer.
This is the fourth year the publication, in cooperation with the Hendersonville Chamber of Commerce, has bestowed the award upon a citizen who lives and/or works in the Hendersonville community.
Regina was brought to tears when General Manager of the Henderson Star News, Mike Towle, presented her with the honor at the monthly luncheon for the Hendersonville Area Chamber of Commerce.
Last November, the Hendersonville Area Chamber of Commerce presented Regina with the Woman Business Leader of the Year Award by for her leadership and demonstrated commitment to the highest ethical standards and professional excellence.
She's making great things happen for HCA. Congratulations, Regina.
