St. David's North Austin Medical Center Names Associate Chief Nursing Officer

james-pittman-acnoFormer director of the hospital's Kidney Transplant Center, James Pittman, R.N., M.S.N., has been named associate chief nursing officer for St. David's North Austin Medical Center.

James, who has more than 10 years of experience in health care, has been with St. David's since 2007.

"We are pleased to have James join our executive team," said Allen Harrison, North Austin Medical Center CEO. "James has proven to be an enthusiastic, vibrant leader who has had an exceptionally positive impact on both patient care and staff engagement throughout our facility."

While director, James was responsible for the wound care, hyperbaric and infusion therapy units, as well as overseeing the Kidney Transplant Center. In a similar role before this, he served as the clinical operations manager for the J.C. Walter Jr. Transplant Center at the Methodist Hospital System in Houston, Texas.

Currently James serves as vice chairman for the Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network and the United Network for Organ Sharing transplant administrators committee.

He also serves as an at-large member of the OPTN/UNOS policy and oversight committee.

As associate CNO, James' duties will expand across multiple hospital service lines including emergency services.

James earned both his Bachelor of Science in nursing and Master of Science in nursing from the University of Texas in Austin.
