Coliseum Health System has named Candice Carroll as its new chief nursing officer. Candice will serve as CNO for both Coliseum Medical Centers and the Coliseum Health System, brining with her an extensive background in forensic nursing, chest pain center, emergency services and critical care, Carroll
Prior to her new role, Candice served as CNO for Terre Haute Regional Hospital in Indiana where she lead the facility to two Grade "A" awards from the Leapfrog Group as well as helping attain hospital recognition by the Joint Commission as a Top Quality Performer in 2011 and 2012.
Among her many accomplishments is gaining Chest Pain Center Accreditation for Lewis Gale Medical Center in Virginia and developing a 12-bed cardiovascular step-down unit.
Once a board member for the Council on Domestic Abuse, a non-profit organization dedicated to the care of victims of violent crimes, Candice has also been a committee member on the Sexual Assault Response Team and volunteered as a forensic nurse examiner.
As a medical community leader, she organized the first Forensic Nursing Team in her area in 2012 and maintains her national certification in forensic nursing.
And last but not least, Candice is a recipient of the Daisy Award from the American Organization of Nurse Executives (AONE), which recognizes "extraordinary nurses."
Candice earned her associate degree in nursing from The Jefferson College of Health Sciences in Roanoke, Virginia, her baccalaureate of nursing and Master of Business Administration with a leadership focus from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix.
