West Valley Medical Center in Caldwell, Idaho, has named Betsy Hunsicker as its new CEO beginning today, March 3, 2014. Betsy replaces Julie Taylor who was promoted to CEO of Alaska Regional Hospital in Anchorage in December last year.

Betsy moves to her new role following three years as chief operating officer of Rose Medical Center, a 275-bed hospital in Denver. She served as vice president of business development prior to that for a total of eleven years at Rose.

All three hospitals are affiliates in the HCA network.

Betsy, her husband and their two children will make their new home in Caldwell. “My husband and I always envisioned living in a town where neighbors are connected and people are invested in the future,” she said in a news release from West Valley. “Caldwell definitely fits that bill.”

One of her goals for West Valley is to "continue to provide the high quality care and personalized attention for which this hospital is known, while developing new programs and services for patients and their families."

"When I visited this hospital for the first time, it was immediately obvious that it is a great source of pride for the community, as well as hospital employees and physicians," she said.

"We enthusiastically welcome Betsy to our leadership team," Greg Angle, president, HCA Mountain Division, said in a statement. "She comes highly recommended and has been enthusiastically received by all who’ve interacted with her during the selection process."

Betsy received her bachelor's in industrial engineering from Northwestern University and dual master's degrees in health services administration and business administration from the University of Florida.

Congratulations, Betsy.
