Sandy Yanko, an industrial and systems engineer, has been named as the new chief operating officer of Regional Medical Center of San Jose. Sandy brings with her more than 20 years of experience in operations improvement for healthcare providers.
Her new duties include taking administrative responsibility for several operating and clinical ancillary support departments and serving as Regional's staffing officer.
Sandy joins Regional Medical from the HCA Far West Division, based on Henderson, Nevada, where she oversaw eight hospitals in both Nevada and California as vice president of Process Improvement/Management Engineering since 2003.
"Yanko’s professional background and skills in process improvement will greatly benefit our organization and advance quality," said Mike Johnson, Regional's CEO. "We're fortunate to have her as a welcome addition to our team."
Sandy graduated from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Virginia with a bachelor's in Industrial and systems engineering. She earned her master's in the same field from the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, Georgia.
Her new role at Regional begins on March 3rd, 2014.
