HCA Promotions Just Keep Coming!

more HCA promotionsYou can't stop progress! Lee’s Summit Medical Center has appointed Heath King as Chief Financial Officer. Medical City Dallas Hospital has named Charles Gressle as Chief Operating Officer and Andrea Harrow is taking charge of the Woman's Hospital of Texas' nursing division as Chief Nursing Officer.

Heath King-CFOHeath King has been with HCA since 2002 where he was selected to participate in the HCA CFO Executive Development Program. Since 2008, he has served as the hospital controller of Redmond Regional Medical Center in Rome, Georgia.

“Heath’s accomplishments at Redmond Regional Medical Center are a great benefit to Lee’s Summit Medical Center, and he is already contributing to the hospital’s growth and cost management strategies,” Mel Lagarde, President of HCA Midwest Health System, added.

Along with his new role at Lee's Summit Medical as CFO, Heath will also serve as the hospital's ethics and compliance officer.

“Heath has a strong background and solid knowledge of hospital accounting and financial management,” Jackie DeSouza, Chief Executive Officer of Lee’s Summit Medical Center said. “With his extensive HCA experience and proven leadership, he is a perfect fit to the Lee’s Summit Medical Center family.”

Heath earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Georgia and his master’s degree in business administration from Shorter College in Rome.

Charles Gressle-COOCharles Gressle has been a healthcare executive with more than sixteen years of experience. His new role as COO for Medical City Dallas began August 13.

He was senior Vice-President in the HCA Continental Division for the past two years where he led the strategy, business development and growth initiative for the Denver, Oklahoma City and Wichita markets.

Prior to that, Charles was COO at The Women's Hospital of Texas, having managed a %78 million tower expansion and overseeing the division's Women's Growth Initiative which moved the system to number one in the market share in Houston.

“Charles has a combination of hospital operations, strategy and development and service line management that make him a perfect fit for Medical City,” said Erol Akdamar, Medical City's CEO. “He is an exceptional communicator and has shown a great ability to work collaboratively with physicians.”

Charles said he's excited to be joining the staff. "Medical City has a wonderful reputation and history of providing world-class patient outcomes and care."

Andrea Harrow-CNOAndrea Harrow, M.S.N., R.N., was previously West Houston's Chief Nursing Officer. She served as vice president and CHO of Valley Baptist Medical Center, director of accreditation and professional practice at Memorial Hermann Hospital and director of performance improvement/risk management at Cleveland Regional Medical.

Of her new role at the Woman's Hospital of Texas Andrea says, "It is a privilege to serve the women and infants of this community, especially during a time when they are most vulnerable and when clinical expertise and compassion can make all the difference."

As CNO for West Houston Medical Center, Andrea was responsible for all inpatient nursing departments and directly supervised the Quality Department. She also saw the hospital named by the Joint Commission as one of the top performing hospitals in using evidence-based care processes to improve patient outcomes as well as being designated as a Pathway to Excellence organization by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) demonstrating a commitment to creating a work environment where nurses can flourish and improve not only nurse satisfaction but patient satisfaction and quality of care.

"Andrea's reputation for clinical expertise and leadership precede her," said Linda Russell, President and CEO of Woman's Hospital of Texas. "This is a vital role that we are confident Andrea will fill with her extensive clinical and managerial experience. Her role will continue the more than 35-year quality care and outcomes reputation of The Woman's Hospital of Texas."

Andrea holds a Master of Science Degree in Nursing (MSN) from the University of Texas Health Science Center. She is a certified green belt in Six Sigma, a member of the American Organization of Nurse Executives, Texas Organization of Nurse Executives and a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
