Ken West, former associate chief operating officer of 768-bed CJW Medical Center in Richmond, Virginia, has been named chief operating officer for Medical Center of Trinity.
The 236-bed facility in Tampa, Florida is part of the HCA West Florida Division.
Ken has been with HCA since 2009, having got his start at Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center, in Virginia, as assistant administrator.
A 2012 COO Development program alumnus, Ken soon joined CJW as associate COO 2. In this role, Ken helped progress the quality, growth and culture initiatives in many of the ancillary and support services, including special management of the expanded Limb Salvage and Sleep Medicine programs.
He received his undergraduate degree from Louisiana State University and earned his graduate degree from Georgetown University in Washington D.C. Ken was also Valedictorian of his high school.
Replacing Thibault van Marcke, who was promoted to North Florida Regional Medical Center as vice president and COO, Ken kicked off his new promotion with Medical Center of Trinity in February 2014.
