OU Medical Center Names New Chief Operating Officer

kris-wallce-COOKristina Wallace has been named the new chief operating officer for OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She replaces David Shimp, who is now COO for St. David's Medical Center in Austin, Texas.

Kris started her healthcare career as a registered nurse at OU's The Children's Hospital in 1995. Over her time in the OU Medical System she was involved with extensive management and planning, eventually becoming director of Pediatric Medical Surgical at Children's and later the CNO of OU Medical System, her current role.

"Kris will bring her strong leadership skills and proven track record of success to her new position," said OU Medical System President and CEO Charles L. Spicer Jr. "Kris also had an outstanding record of service during her time as chief nursing officer."

Under her leadership, patient satisfaction at OU Medical Center Edmond skyrocketed to over 90% from average while changes she brought to OU Medical Center helped bring in-patient satisfaction up 45 percentile points between 2008 and 2011.

Kris also helped open the Patient Logistics Center at OU Medical Center, which increased referrals and eased the process for transfer patients.

Kris received her master's in business administration from the University of Oklahoma Price College of Business.

She is a member of the American Nurses Association and the American Organization of Nurse Executives.
